International
Intercollegiate Workshop on Advanced Materials 2017 (IIWAM 2017) was held at
Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Cheng Kung
University, Tainan, Taiwan on Dec 16 ~ 17, 2017. This is the second workshop based on the MOUs
signed in 2016 between Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
(JAIST) and three Universities in Taiwan, including National Taiwan University
of Science and Technology (NTUST), National Yunlin University of Science and
Technology (NYUST), and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). In the two-day workshop, more than 120 people
participated, including Presidents from all four universities, President Tetsuo
Asano (JAIST), President Ching-Jong Liao (NTUST), Presiden Neng-Shu Yang
(NYUST), and President Huey-Jen Su (NCKU).
Another VIP was Mr. Shih-Ying Lin, Director of Education Division from Taipei
Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan. In the workshop opening, MOUs and gifts were
exchanged between four Presidents. Four
Presidents and Director Lin also gave important opening remarks. The purpose of IIWAM 2017 was to recognize and
to encourage the international/intercollegiate exchange and collaboration for
both education and research achievements, and expand the success beyond campus
boundaries.
